Why we’re better
PROS & CONS OF MY SERVICE
THE “BAD”:
I’m not competing at the bottom of the price pool (pun intended). I’m pricey on purpose. Why? Because I stack the quality and services higher rather than lower the price and offer less quality and worse service.
…that’s about it for “drawbacks” to my service.
We’ll get to the good in a moment but to finish up the pricing discussion, here are everyone’s STARTING prices as of January 2025:
Oasis $150 plus chemicals
Bluepoint $155 chems included
E-Konomy $160 plus chemicals
Ambiance $165 plus chemicals
Pools Plus $165 chems included
Me $170 plus chemicals
Patio Pools $185 chems included
Sparkle & Splash $200 plus chemicals
Aside from the fact that these are only their starting prices which means they could be higher, you’ll notice that I am not the cheapest option, and I won’t ever be the cheapest option.
That’s because I do many things better than these companies. I know this because while working for the big companies I listened carefully to my customers’ complaints and actively fixed them in my own business. If I do better service with less risk, doesn’t it make sense that I’m slightly more expensive?
I have nothing against these companies! I learned these prices by calling all of them myself and they sound like hard-working, good people. The problem is that the big pool companies have high turnover of employees and they give them too many pools to do in a day. As companies get bigger, it gets harder for them to offer consistent, quality service.
Now on to the things I do better…
THE GOOD:
I will ONLY ask you to pay for essential repairs.
I dose chemicals to the decimal point to balance your water with precision. No one else is that exact. You don’t pay for extra chems, and balanced water means less wear and tear on your pool’s equipment and surface in the long run.
I have fewer pools in a given day than a tech working for the big companies, meaning more time spent on your pool. I spend an average of 32 minutes at my pools, while the average at other companies is 11 minutes.
There’s no office staff to get through, just me. You’ll have access to me personally at all times when you have a concern, question or emergency.
I have more experience than most pool techs working at the big companies (with high turnover, the average tech in your backyard has less than a year of experience).
You’ll have the cleanest pool, hands down.
You’ll have the most balanced water chemistry, hands down.
You’ll have the most optimally functioning equipment, hands down.
You’ll get the fastest response times, hands down.
You get an instant post-service email with before and after photos of all completed work, exact chemical readings, exact chems used, photos of gates closed, etc.
All the bigger, routine jobs are included in the monthly fee (filter cleans, monthly backwashes, monthly salt cell cleans). I’m also the only company that degreases the paper filter elements, everyone else just hoses them down…yup, that’s not cleaning.
On-the-way texts are sent out before arriving at the property, which you can reply to, to better coordinate the visit.
You get 1 month of free service for every friend/neighbor you refer who signs up for service..no limit on the number of referrals I’ll discount.
You get 10% off your first month.
And last, no risk because…
…if I fail to do any of these things you can cancel and get your last 3 months of service fees back.
!!!BONUS TIME!!!
And as a bonus, here are the top 3 customer complaints I heard all the time when I worked at the big companies and how I solved them:
Problem #1: I have a different pool guy every few weeks or months. I wish it were the same guy every time
Solution: It’ll be me every time.
Problem #2: My pool guy didn’t spend enough time on my pool. What did he even do?
Solution: I started my own company to have more time and freedom. That means working fewer pools than I did at the big companies so that I can spend more quality time at each one. I average triple the time on your pool that other companies do.
and finally…
Problem #3: The office doesn’t communicate well enough about when my pool guy is coming, when my service day changes, when repairs are happening, etc…
Solution: There is no office. There’s you and there’s me. I’ll make both of our lives easier and keep you in the loop. My maximum clientele goal is 50 and no more..not 700. The difference with me is, when you call with a concern, a problem, a complaint, or an emergency you’re one of a very small club of clients and, thus, get my full attention.
The bottom line is that I spent years working for the biggest companies in Tucson. I saw how it’s done right and how it’s done wrong. While I’m grateful for the training I got with some of the best, I know how to improve on it.
Now that I’m on my own, I’m faster and more agile than the big guys and I retain the skills and experience I picked up there.
I can do anything they can do..just better, because I have fewer pools and more time, less overhead cost and more flexibility.
All things being equal, price included, who would you want working on your pool? If I do all the above 15 things better than other companies, shouldn’t it be me? And if I do it better, doesn’t it make sense that I’d charge slightly more than others?
Your pool is one of the most expensive and complicated luxury items you’ll every own, adding up to 10% to your home’s value. I’ve heard the story from my customers enough times to know there is a lot of subpar work being done. That’s what cheap buys you. Pay a little more and get so much more. Let me protect this asset for you.
